Well not been out for a while (Life Goes On), but managed to get out yesterday for an interesting walk with my son Owen. With the views of Pendle Hill behind us.

Walking along Colne Water Close to (Lakeside Cafe In Ballgrove) https://www.facebook.com/lakesidecafecolne

Within a few minutes walk we are met with an amazing little pond which a lot of wildlife frequent

After a few more yards we see the resident Donkeys

A Pheasant poking up through the long grass, He then saw us and dipped his head down and that was that haha.

The views were amazing over looking Pendle and the surrounding areas.

A View of Colne Town Hall in the distance.

Now is the season for the Coot to teach and bring up it's young Some of the different ecosystems that they inhabit include ponds, lakes, wetlands, estuaries, swamps, marshes, and more. Some species even live in public parks, gardens, and on farms with ponds. Most Coot species are social, and live in groups known as flocks. These flocks provide plenty of eyes to keep watch for potential predators. If they spot a predator, they noisily announce the danger, making it difficult for the predator to catch anything.

Also I have seen this Common Buzzard a few times living in the trees and hunting in the area

And not forgetting the Heron the cheeky chappy who sits there with all the patience in the world awaiting their next catch.

So if you get chance have a wander round this hidden gem in Lancashire, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. PS grab something to eat and drink too at the Lakeside Cafe I'ts scrumptious..

Nice to see you back , again. Interesting to see your equipment. Worth it if it means you get more close ups. I love the owls. Nice to see their progress. Thank you.
Nice to see you're back. I've missed your posts. I worked at Ball Grove 'Skin yard' in my holidays 50 years ago, overlooking the lake. Stunning photos. Is this a passing dog? If it's yours, how do you manage him to not disturb the wildlife. 😊
