Another visit from the Barn Owl & Friends

Tonight was a more patience testing evening and it finally paid off when the owl made his appearance

Swooping low watching the ground and also us, looking for the evening food source.

Like a stealth bomber he spotted something on the ground, started his speedy descent and then landed with his talons landing 1st into the soft field

No sooner had he landed he was off again, this time he was beaten and his prey had slipped away to tell the tale. The Barn Owl doesn't always get the catch 1st time..

After he had been flying around for about 5 mins he decided it was time to rest and landed on a close tree branch to have a well earned rest.

So whilst the owl was resting we saw 2 herons do a flypast.

At this point the light was fading and was time to go home and rest for the day :)
